CoreToolsX is a Paper-only vanilla+ tool progression plugin for Minecraft servers. It adds a controlled tool upgrade path and lets netherite tools use vanilla visual skins while keeping netherite-level behavior.
The goal is to make tools and weapons feel like a real progression system without requiring a database, economy system, custom GUI, or custom item framework.
This page is a commercial-style feature overview. Exact config keys, defaults, limits, and operational details are documented at https://icewolf23x.github.io/CoreToolsX-website/
Install the jar on a Paper server, start the server, and let CoreToolsX generate its default files.
Players use normal crafting interactions to upgrade tools, apply netherite visual skins, and remove skins with shears. Server staff can use the built-in admin commands to reload the plugin, inspect held items, and repair CoreToolsX metadata when needed.
CoreToolsX can guide players through a server-controlled tool path instead of letting every tier be crafted directly.
Default progression includes wood, stone, copper, iron, gold, diamond, and netherite behavior.
Netherite tools can be visually converted into vanilla-looking tool styles such as wood, stone, copper, iron, gold, or diamond while still keeping the intended netherite tool profile.
An optional Resource Pack Addon can be used when a server wants skinned tools to show their real netherite tier in inventory while keeping the visual skin in hand.
