Backups
Incremental, non-blocking world backups for Paper servers. Only changed region files are copied, identical data is stored once, and every restore is hash-verified before it's written to disk.

Now runs on Paper 1.20.1 through 26.3
One jar now covers every Paper version from 1.20.1 to 26.3, on Java 17 or newer (the Java your server version already requires). Tested on live Paper 1.20.1, 1.21.11 and 26.3; the versions in between are built for but not individually tested.
Important fix for 26.x servers
On Minecraft 26.x, earlier versions of Backups only backed up each dimension's folder and missed level.dat, player data and datapacks, which now live at the root of the world folder. A restore from those snapshots gives an incomplete world. 0.3.0 backs up the whole world folder once, covering every dimension. If you run 26.x, update and take a fresh backup.
- On 26.x, one snapshot per world folder (named after it, e.g.
world) now covers all dimensions. On 1.20 and 1.21 nothing changes: one snapshot per world, as before. - Snapshots taken on 26.x before 0.3.0 hold a single dimension. They still list, verify and restore, and the restore message now tells you to copy them into that dimension's folder instead of replacing the whole world.
- Your old
world_netherandworld_the_endsnapshots on 26.x stop growing and are not pruned automatically; delete them yourself once you have verified the new backups.
Other fixes
- Worlds you set to auto-save off now stay off after a backup (previously auto-save was always switched back on).
- If saving a world fails at the start of a backup, the backup now aborts cleanly instead of leaving auto-save paused and blocking every later backup.
- The restore message now matches what the snapshot actually contains.
/backup prunenow appears in the command's usage text.
