Smooth Gameplay, Engineered to Perfection

中文版
Welcome to Ultramodern Optimization — a meticulously crafted modpack designed to transform your Minecraft experience. We don’t just chase high frame rates; we build stability, compatibility, and responsiveness into every environment.

From boosted FPS and smoother TPS to faster loading and network refinement, every adjustment is tested, tuned, and validated for seamless performance. The name “Ultramodern” comes from our curated selection of next‑generation optimization mods—including ModernFix and Modern UI—working together to deliver what we call optimization done right. The author recommends using Java 17 or Java 25 for playing Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge.

Unlike typical optimization packs—which usually select generic, unremarkable optimization mods—Ultra Modern Optimization adopts an integrated optimization system. The author provides a preset suite of optimization mods, most of which are suitable for inclusion in client-side modpacks.

⚙️ What This Pack Is Designed For

This pack targets players who:

  • Play with many mods installed
  • Host or join local multiplayer worlds
  • Seek a consistently smooth experience in mod‑heavy setups

For pure vanilla or lightly modded clients, simpler optimizations like Embeddium might be enough. But when the mod count rises—this pack shines.

Frequently Asked Questions

❓ Can I use this as a “performance base” for other modpacks?

Yes. This pack is built with comprehensive optimizations suitable for mod‑heavy environments. Many gameplay‑focused modpacks overlook fine‑tuned performance—often because their creators have high‑end systems.
Note: We also provide custom optimization patches for popular modpacks, available on the author’s homepage.

⚠️ Why did my performance get worse after installing?

By default, the pack is tuned for local multiplayer and large mod counts. If you’re playing on a vanilla server or with very few mods, some optimizations may be unnecessary and could burden lower‑end hardware.
Recommendation: Start with a lighter configuration if you’re on a modest system.

🔄 Is it compatible with other modpacks?

Generally yes, but check for duplicate optimization mods to avoid conflicts.

Special Thanks

This pack stands on the shoulders of the incredible Minecraft modding community. Our sincere gratitude goes to all the mod developers whose work makes this possible, and to our dedicated testers—especially Awei and Argon4W—for their invaluable feedback and support.

Known compatibility issues:

  1. Optimization Pack v2.4 for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge is confirmed compatible only up to Forge loader version 47.4.0. Other Forge versions are not guaranteed to work (loader version can be ignored).

  2. Starlight is incompatible with Create mod versions newer than 0.5.1j. Removing Starlight resolves the issue if using Create 0.5.1j or later.

  3. Create versions newer than 0.5.1j may conflict with Radium, causing crashes. Removing Radium resolves this.

  4. Potential incompatibility with XinYa Interconnect mods. Removing Despawn Tweaks, txnilib, Cerulean, and Redirected resolves the issue.

  5. Incompatible with Twilight Forest and possibly other mods. Removing "c2" resolves this.

  6. Incompatible with GPUs/drivers supporting OpenGL 4.6 or lower. Disabling accelerated rendering resolves the issue.

  7. If crafted items don’t appear in the crafting grid but can still be crafted, removing "Workbench Performance Optimization" fixes it.

  8. If additional Cataclysm structures cause crashes, remove Radium. If fishing triggers an achievement-related crash, remove Flerovium.

  9. If Ars Nouveau crashes occur, disable Rhenium’s “Asynchronous Particle Logic” in its config.

  10. Adding Alchemistry v1.1.3 may cause crashes; upgrading to v1.1.6 resolves this.

  11. After entering a new dimension, Thaumcraft’s grimoire may occasionally stop working—spells and enchantments won’t display until you re-equip the grimoire. Similarly, spells applied via the Arcane Anvil to armor may disappear from the spell wheel until the armor is re-equipped. (No current fix, but the issue is minor.)

  12. Optimization mod Cerulean is incompatible with Icterine—remove Icterine (functionality overlaps).

  13. If the optimization mod Ixeris frequently crashes the game, remove it.

  14. If the optimization mod Gnetum causes screen flickering, remove it (can be ignored if performance gain is prioritized).

  15. In Optimization Pack v2.5 for 1.20.1 Forge, the mods “Recipe Performance Optimization” and “Recipe Essentials” are no longer compatible—remove them (functionality overlaps).

  16. The optimization mod “Better Foliage Reworked” is disabled by default. It can be enabled via the Embeddium (Emb) settings menu. (Enabling it should not significantly reduce foliage visual quality, even at quality level 1.)

  17. Embeddium+ is disabled by default. It can be enabled via the Embeddium (Emb) interface—only enable “JEI hidden items: show only in search”; avoid changing other settings.

  18. Freezing Issue: If you encounter the game freezing on the loading screen or getting stuck on a black screen, you likely have an incompatible mod. Try removing optimization mods of similar functionality—or specifically delete: Despawn Tweaks, txnilib, Cerulean, Redirected, or Ixeris—and test again. (Remember to add Icterine as a replacement optimization mod.)

  19. Optimization Mod: TT20 is currently flagged as unstable for single-player on Forge 1.20.1, so it won’t be included in version 2.5 of the pack. You may still add it yourself, but note that it may be incompatible with mods that enhance or extend visual effects. Solution: Remove TT20 if conflicts arise.

  20. Optimization Mod: The mod "Save My Shitty Network" (SMSN) may trigger an error labeled "SMSN". Solution: Remove "Save My Shitty Network" to resolve the issue.

  21. **Crash/Freeze Issues:

  • Type 1: Stuck on the launch screen without reaching the loading screen.
  • Type 2: Stuck on the loading screen and unable to enter the game client.   Both are typically caused by conflicts among optimization mods. Please carefully review your optimization mods for compatibility.

22 Optimization Mod: Quick Recipe Lookup & Chisel Stone is incompatible with recipes defined via CraftTweaker, which may cause incorrect enchantment readings. (This usually doesn’t break gameplay.) However, if recipe exchanges stop working entirely, removing the mod will fix the issue.

23 Network Optimization Mod: Packet Fixer resolves some issues but can introduce others. If you're unable to connect to multiplayer servers, try removing Packet Fixer and test again.

24 Optimization Mod: Chloride (Embeddium++/Sodium++) may cause crashes due to its outdated version in the current optimization pack. Solution: Either upgrade to a newer version or disable it.

25 Regarding Chloride (Embeddium++/Sodium++) Usage: Most features in the included Chloride version are disabled by default. If you wish to enable something, it’s recommended to only turn on “Item Manager – Hide Unless Searching”, which you can find under EMB’s Performance settings (scroll down).

26 Why MCreatorMemFix Isn’t Included: MCreatorMemFix is a memory-fix mod specifically for MCreator-generated content. However, if other mods also modify the same underlying files, compatibility issues may arise. Since it’s a specialized fix, it won’t be bundled into the optimization pack by default—**but you can add it manually if needed.

27 Shaders/Rendering Optimization Mod: RenderScale may conflict with other shader-related mods. Do not modify it if your setup is already working. Compatible configurations are currently under testing (default settings are applied for now).

28 All-in-One Optimization Framework:   ⚠️ Warning: Risky Operation! Back up your pack before attempting!⚠️   The author highly recommends deleting all optimization mods from your current modpack and replacing them entirely with the mods and config files from this optimization pack**. Some duplicate optimization mods can be kept or removed (use PCL CE to identify duplicates). This method is highly efficient—but proceed with caution and always back up first!

Question: Were configuration files modified? Can I import this pack into my existing modpack?

Answer:

Yes, the optimization pack includes extensive modifications to config files and implements aggressive fixes for several issues. You must import the config files from inside the provided config folder into your own modpack’s config folder (be careful not to import the wrong folder). Do not arbitrarily add optimization mods from this pack into a modpack that doesn’t include the corresponding config files—doing so may cause immediate crashes.
