Highlights
Crash Assistant
Crash Assistant has been added to Hammer. It helps the user when experiencing a crash with log analysis. It also allows the user to click one button to upload multiple different logs (like crash_report and latest log) to mclo.gs at once, along with a button that lets the user easily join the Discord server and get help with their issue. It also shows a warning to the user when they are on an integrated GPU, or are using microcode known to have critical stability bugs. It also lets you easily share what you've changed from Hammer's default mod list to make support easier for us.
Particle Core
Offers beneficial culling and rendering optimizations for particle effects.
ServerCore
Improves logic performance of the integrated server without really any downsides at all. (Configs that change vanilla behavior have been removed)
Deleted BadOptimizations and ThreadTweak
BadOptimizations did not offer significant improvements in performance or FPS, meaning it does almost nothing (in its own benchmarks, which show an improvement of at most 5% in FPS, and that could just be a placebo effect or variations in frame rate).
ThreadTweak isnt included anymore in Hammer, we do not want to mess with thread priorities out of the box. And it does not improve performance for the majority of players anyway.
See issue #66 for more context on this change.
If you need the mod, I recommend checking out the section about ThreadTweak in the post-install section of the Hammer wiki before reinstalling it.
