Hand-written lore books can be stocked in train loot chests

Books written and signed inside an editor plot are now ordinary written books while you build with them — they no longer catch fire when you read or drop them, so you can proof-read one and place it in a carriage's chest. Once that carriage rides the live train, the first player to take the book out of the chest arms it, and it burns after being read like any other book you find out there.

Better book writing

Writing a book in-game is far less painful. The Dungeon Train modpack now bundles Scribble, which adds page insert and delete, undo and redo, and the ability to save a book to a file and load it back later. Books you write still look exactly the same to everyone else, whether or not they have the mod.

Numbers read correctly in languages that decline them

Counts in chat and on the death screen now take the grammatical form your language actually wants. Russian says «1 раз», «2 раза», «5 раз» instead of forcing everything into one of two English shapes, and the death-screen epitaph reads «второй, кто пал» rather than «два-й». English was quietly wrong here too — it used to say "the twoth to fall". Languages that don't inflect for number, like Japanese and Chinese, are unaffected.

• Russian and Polish counts decline properly — one, few and many forms, including the teens and the second decade
• Death-screen epitaphs spell real ordinals: «второй, кто пал», "the second to fall"
• Elapsed times, book stats, and shared-carriage death lines all follow the reader's own language

Saving a train package no longer loses your work

Saving in the Train Editor's Packages menu is now purely additive — it never deletes or moves anything you have built. Edits you make after saving a package now land in that package, so they stick.

• Saving under a new name makes a copy; the package you saved from stays exactly where it was, along with its .zip snapshot.
• Your first save copies your in-progress work into the new package instead of moving it, leaving the originals in place as a backup.
• Portal room, tunnel, track and pillar edits — including removing a block variant — are now written into the package you have active, instead of silently going somewhere the game was not reading.
• Saving over a package name that only exists as a .zip is now refused rather than overwriting that .zip.
• If a save cannot finish, your previous snapshot is left untouched instead of being deleted first.
• The Packages menu now shows Save only on the active package's row, so it can no longer look like it will save a different one.
• The custom train content prompt no longer appears when your run is already Free Play, where it had nothing left to ask.
