The Wheel
Why reinvent the wheel? Opinionated foundation to be used as a starting point for custom modpack creation or as an enhanced and lightweight client for vanilla.
About
Every new modpack has to start somewhere. So why reinvent the wheel?
This pack strives to provide a stable and performant foundation on which new modpacks can be based. Also sutiable as a snappy vanilla+ client on its own. Contains the standard suite of Sodium and Sodium-compatible performance mods, recipe menu, looking-at probe, mod menu, options management, and of course, AppleSkin :3
From there, a lightweight selection of GUI/HUD changes, texture modifications, visual enhancements, and quality of life features are added. These are based on the preferences and opinions of the pack author – this unified vision being what sets this apart from similar pack options.
Performance
The pack is developed and tested on an eight-year-old PC with an i7-6700k and 980ti, and it targeted to perform with good frame-rate on similar systems or better, when using the recommended settings.
Pack is worked on and balanced around a healthy 6144MB/6GB of RAM, but you should easily be able to get away with as little as 2GB.
JVM Arguments:
-XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=32M
Notice: RAM and JVM settings are not applied automatically by the pack/launcher. You must enable them yourself in the pack options menu in Modrinth.
