⚠️ This is an experimental build! ⚠️
StealthPipe v6 adds direct peer-to-peer WebRTC connections. When a WebRTC connection can be established, it can decrease ping by more than 50%. Otherwise, StealthPipe will fallback to WebSockets with a relay when reliability is necessary.
⚠️ Compatibility Notes StealthPipe v6 is (sometimes) compatible with v5. However, this cannot be guaranteed. This experimental build uses the v6 staging relay. It will not be able to connect to rooms hosted on the production relay (default for version 5 and under).
Changelog
- Fix additional ping being tied to rendering FPS bug caused by incorrect thread synchronization. May cause some issues and crashes with the command dispatcher (for some reason?). Will decrease ping by a lot in some cases. (Normally, decreases by 16 ms at 60 FPS)
- Disconnect the WebSocket client when WebRTC signaling is done and when it fails
- Better error handling for WebRTC handshake failures and timeouts
- Add disconnect reasons for WebSockets to aid in debugging
Known issues
- WebRTC may fail on some NATs or corporate networks. StealthPipe will automatically fallback to WebSockets.
- The game will sometimes freeze when trying to cancel a connection.
(Also if you're wondering why the jar is 40 MEGABYTES, it's because WebRTC libraries are huge apparently)
