This version brings StealthPipe V6 out of the alpha testing stage. However, StealthPipe is still in Beta and therefore may still some issues.
StealthPipe v6 adds direct peer-to-peer WebRTC connections. When a WebRTC connection can be established, it can decrease ping by more than 50%. Otherwise, StealthPipe will fall back to WebSockets with a relay when reliability is necessary.
While V6 is a great performance improvement compared to V5, it also adds a lot of complexity to the project. Therefore, the number of bugs and glitches will be higher than in previous versions. You can disable WebRTC in the mod's config if you want a more stable experience.
Bugs and issues will be fixed in subsequent releases as they are discovered.
Known Edge Cases
Some known issues that occur rarely with WebRTC and temporary fixes:
- WebRTC failing for no reason on networks that do support WebRTC (fix: retry)
- Crashes caused by native libraries (fix: restart the game)
- Player not disconnecting appropriately (fix: have the player rejoin and then leave, or save and quit)
