Remnant Bosses 3.1.0 — The Realm Endures

Fixes

• Fixed Forge 1.20.1 not starting with Mixin apply failed … JournalLivingEntityMixin … @Shadow field dead was not located. This also affected the 2.7.0 and 3.0.0 Forge builds. All four builds now start normally.
• Buried Crypt Lurkers are now truly hidden until they rise. Before, they could show above the ground.
• Every Catacomb Rat now flees bright light. Before, about half of them never did.

The Realm will not change

• Survival and adventure players can no longer break or place blocks in the Eclipsed Realm. They also cannot use items on its terrain or empty buckets there.
• Explosions still hurt, but leave the terrain whole.
• Graces, Waygates, fog gates, doors and chests still work. Creative and spectator players are exempt.
• The config key build_protection in remnant/realm/realm controls this (on by default). Items in the #remnant_bosses:realm_usable tag are let through.

Graces

• Redesigned Grace Embers: a ring of weathered standing stones and a cairn on a bed of glowing ash. Above them burn a golden flame and a pool of light, with orbiting motes and a beam that marks the grace from afar.
• The grace menu lists the grace you are at first, then every other grace nearest first, each with its distance in meters. Graces in another dimension show "Another world".

New creatures roam the Realm

• Ashbound Constructs are furnace-hearted machines of the Ashen Wastes, with a few in the Ossuary Depths and Tarnished Fields:
  • Ashbound Crawler: rears up to breathe a short cone of flame, and bursts in embers when it dies.
  • Ember Servitor: a hovering drone that fires burning bolts and welds damaged constructs back together.
  • Rusted Guardian: a slow-turning hulk with a ground smash you can jump over and a wide sweep.
• Corrupted Relics are sacred objects come alive in the Gracewood, Tarnished Fields, Gravefield Barrows and Ossuary Depths:
  • Shardling: floating crystals that take turns to fire.
  • Ancient Vessel: a heavy urn that slows you with a pulse when you come close, and bursts when broken.
  • Relic Stalker: lies hidden and invisible until you come within 7 blocks, then ambushes.
• New drops: Ashen Cog and Relic Shard. Each creature has a spawn egg.
• Constructs and relics only damage creatures. Like everything else in the Realm, they never break or place blocks.

Existing worlds

• The Armored Grub and the Sickleghast are retired. In existing worlds they become the Ashbound Crawler and the Relic Stalker, and so do their spawn eggs.
• Existing graces get the new look on their own.

• Minecraft 1.20.1: Fabric and Forge; Java 17.
• Minecraft 1.21.1: Fabric and NeoForge; Java 21.
• Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3: Fabric and NeoForge; Java 25. New in this release, with the same content as the other versions.
• GeckoLib and JAuml are required on all loaders (GeckoLib 5 and JAuml 2.3.1 on 26.2 and 26.3). Fabric builds also require Fabric API.
