PocketMorph 2.0.0 is a major release focused on turning PocketMorph from a command-first transformation mod into a polished transformation and self-battler experience for Cobblemon.


New: Full PocketMorph Transformation GUI

  • Added a dedicated PocketMorph GUI for browsing, previewing, and applying transformations.
  • Added a searchable Base Pokémon browser with scrollable visual cards.
  • Added a form browser with visual form cards, locked-form handling, pinned Default form support, and clearer selected-form highlighting.
  • Added a large Live Preview panel for the selected Pokémon/form.
  • Added support for opening the GUI through /disguise gui and the Open PocketMorph GUI keybind.

New: Live Preview

  • Added a live Pokémon preview in the main GUI.
  • Added preview controls:
    • left-drag to rotate;
    • right-drag to pan;
    • scroll to zoom;
    • middle-click to reset view.
  • Added type icons, ability indicators, stat summaries, form information, shiny/gender indicators, and availability hints.
  • Added deterministic preview handling for shiny, gender, forms, and properties.
  • Improved preview performance and reduced FPS impact from rapid GUI changes.

New: Properties, Favorites, and Random

  • Added GUI controls for common transformation properties, including shiny, gender, scale, nickname, and displayed level.
  • Added a Favorites tab for saving completed transformations.
  • Added favorite badges on saved Base/Form cards.
  • Added a Live Preview favorite button for saving/removing the last successful transformation.
  • Added a Random tab with toggles for randomizing forms, shiny, gender, and scale.
  • Favorites and Random were optimized to avoid major GUI FPS drops.

New: Self-Pokémon Battler System

  • Added the self-battler system, allowing a player’s current transformation to be used as a party-slot Pokémon for Cobblemon battles.
  • Self-battlers are now enabled by default in new server configs.
  • Added protections so self-battlers cannot be accidentally released, traded, transferred, or moved into storage in unsafe ways.
  • Added rescue/remove tools for recovering self-battlers if something goes wrong.
  • Added battle-state guards so players cannot transform or clear transformations at unsafe times during battle.
  • Added evolution synchronization so self-battler evolution can update the saved transformation cleanly.
  • Added handling for battle-only forms and gimmick transformations where supported.
  • Added model hide/restore behavior so the player model and self-battler model do not visually overlap during battle.

New: Battler Panel and Use Item Support

  • Added the PocketMorph Battler side panel. Default keybind is right-arrow, editable in controls.
  • Added battler portrait/status display.
  • Added battler actions for adding, syncing, removing, rescuing, held items, cosmetics, battle camera, and Use Item.
  • Added support for using right-click-style items on self-battlers through the Battler panel, including TMCraft TM disks.

Transformation and Visual Improvements

  • Improved Pokémon/form selection and validation.
  • Improved support for shiny, gender, scale, nickname, level, form, aspect, and cosmetic-related properties.
  • Improved compatibility with addon forms and resource-pack-driven visual forms.

Held Item and Cosmetic Improvements

  • Improved transformed-player held-item rendering across many normal, Mega, and addon forms.
  • Fixed held-item orientation for several common hand-held species/forms.
  • Added special handling for tricky cases such as Mega forms and other models with unusual item locators.
  • Improved cosmetic compatibility groundwork, including alias/diagnostic handling for addon cosmetic items.
  • Fixed Lucario/Riolu scarf cosmetic visual handling for supported addon cosmetics.

Camera, Hitbox, Raycast, and Scale Improvements

  • Improved first-person and third-person transformed camera behavior for small, large, long-bodied, flying, and human-like Pokémon.
  • Improved large-form camera zoom/distance tuning.
  • Improved transformed-player hitbox matching and config controls.
  • Improved block reach, raycast, fluid placement, and item-use alignment for transformed bodies.
  • Improved Poké Ball throw origins across scale and body-shape changes.
  • Improved camera safety in tight spaces and near walls.
  • Improved scale controls and config descriptions.

Movement, Riding, and Utility Improvements

  • Improved land Speed boost rules for eligible ground-based Pokémon.
  • Added/cleaned Fire-type lava movement support and rider Fire Resistance sharing.
  • Improved transformed-player riding behavior while respecting Cobblemon/addon ride data.
  • Improved rider camera and pose handling.
  • Preserved held items and armor while mounted; mounted accessories/backpacks remain hidden for compatibility.

Animation Fixes

  • Fixed or improved several sparse-pose and unusual-animation cases.
  • Improved Gmax and large-form animation handling.
  • Improved floating/small-form movement animation fallbacks.
  • Improved airborne movement behavior for certain sparse flying/floating Pokémon.
  • Preserved accepted sand animation fixes for Garchomp and other tested cases.

Permissions and Server Controls

  • Improved LuckPerms/fabric-permissions-api enforcement.
  • Fixed denied-transform visual reset issues.
  • Reduced permission-denial chat details while preserving admin/debug detail in logs.
  • Expanded server config options with clearer descriptions, defaults, and warnings.
  • Cleaned config descriptions to remove internal development wording.
  • Added concise warnings for high-impact settings such as large scale, lava boost strength, camera offsets, hitbox size, damage boosts, mining Haste, and step assist.

Performance Improvements

  • Optimized Favorites/Random tab rendering and favorite-badge lookups.
  • Reduced persistent transform save/log spam.
  • Improved render refresh behavior for transformed players.

Debug and Message Cleanup

  • Shortened normal player-facing chat messages.
  • Kept debug details available through debug commands instead of routine chat.
  • Removed internal build/stage language from player-facing config descriptions and debug headers where practical.

Notes

  • Existing server configs are preserved where possible. New config defaults may differ from older releases.
  • Self-battlers are enabled by default for new configs in 2.0.0.
  • Very large scale values and high movement/camera multipliers can affect performance or gameplay feel; review server configs before opening public servers.
