Outline N' Stuff - Enchantments 3.0.0
Список изменений
🔥 v3.0.0 — A NEW OUTLINE. THE ACTIONS & STUFF ONE.
This is the release the mod was named after.
The Outline N' Stuff style is the Actions & Stuff outline from Bedrock, brought to Java. Until now it only worked on flat items.
Now it works on every single item.
- Flat sprites, 3D models, held blocks
- Tridents, shields, banners
- Animated GeckoLib and AzureLib gear
- Any mod that ships its own item renderer
It is part of the item's geometry: pixel-perfect in first person, follows animation mods natively, and costs almost nothing. No framebuffer, no post-processing, no FPS tax.
The ring is still there. You pick it for the glow, you are no longer stuck with it.
Update, hold your favourite weapon, and look at it.
🎬 NEW TRAILER
There is a trailer now. Thirty seconds of the new outline doing its thing on real weapons, in real fights, with and without shaders. Watch it here before you read the rest, it says more than the list below.
✨ Added
- Outline N' Stuff on 3D models. Held blocks, the Farmer's Delight skillet, hammers, greatswords and every model built out of cubes now get a border that follows their real shape instead of a ring.
- Outline N' Stuff on custom-rendered items. Tridents, shields, banners and animated modded weapons get the geometric border too, with their real depth under shaders.
- Hit feedback. When one of your projectiles hits something, your weapon's outline flashes green for a second and plays the arrow "ding" that many resource packs provide. Works with any modded bow, crossbow or ranged weapon: it reads who caused the damage, not which weapon fired.
- Blacklist, next to the whitelist. Two levels, one click each with the item in hand: force an item to the ring style, or remove its outline entirely. Persistent, and it never touches the mod's own compatibility files.
- Three budget switches. Turn the ring style off entirely and get all of its cost back, skip items in item frames, or skip items held by mobs and lying on the ground. Without world items to outline, the occlusion masks have nothing to cover and stay idle.
- Per-mod compatibility files. Thirty mods whose few items the border cannot trace faithfully fall back to the ring automatically, per item, never per mod. Cataclysm, Hazen N Stuff, Macabre, Simply Swords, Paladins, Silent Gear, Iron's Spells, Create and its addons, Mekanism, Ars Nouveau, Ice and Fire and more.
- Colour wheel next to the colour picker.
🔧 Changed
- The default key is now U. G was Punchy's, K is Iris's, O was taken too. Your own binding is kept if you already changed it.
- Config panel. Coloured tooltips on every setting, per-option descriptions inside the dropdowns so you can read what a style does before choosing it, and the whitelist and blacklist grouped in their own blocks.
- Style tooltip now describes the style you have selected, and warns about the ring's cost only when the ring is on.
- One width slider drives both styles, so switching between them keeps the same thickness.
🐛 Fixed
- Ghost outline when switching weapons. With Punchy and shaders, a huge outline flashed far from the weapon for a fraction of a second during the sheathing animation. Gone.
- Modded weapons with wrong or missing outlines. Mekanism shields, Eternal Nether's gilded shield, Eternal Starlight shields, Mahou Tsukai, Legendary Monsters, Create tools and many more had no outline at all: their renderers were never seen. They are now captured where the game calls them, whatever mod they come from.
- Incomplete outlines on animated weapons. More than half of Hazen N Stuff, plus Terraprisma, were missing parts of their outline or all of it. Fixed for GeckoLib and AzureLib alike.
- Blue part of the Atomic Disassembler and similar layers drawn in an unusual vertex format are now included instead of dropped.
- Cataclysm items rendered twice under shaders. Astrape, Infernal Forge and friends no longer show a duplicate.
- Runes on 3D items used to spawn off the item, or all on one plane through its middle. They now spawn on the real shape, through its real volume.
- Reset tab restores the right defaults, the compass gets its glint, and Inventory Particles sprites match again.
- Held item depth under shaders is now written by the mod itself, so runes on the offhand shield sit at the right distance instead of four times too close.
⚡ Performance
- Outline N' Stuff mode costs almost nothing: it is geometry, no framebuffer, no post-processing.
- The ring path is unchanged from 2.4.2, still about 8× cheaper than the first releases, and can now be switched off entirely.
🤝 Compatibility
- NeoForge and Fabric for Minecraft 1.21.1, one single jar, client-side only.
- New: AzureLib. Animated items rendered with AzureLib get outlines and runes, same as GeckoLib. This is what was keeping nine Hazen N Stuff weapons dark, Terraprisma included.
- New: any custom item renderer. Mods that ship their own renderer no longer need explicit support. Confirmed on Mekanism, Create, Eternal Starlight, Eternal Nether, Legendary Monsters, Mahou Tsukai, MineColonies, Ars Nouveau, Ars Délight, Star Buncle Mania, Twilight Forest, Enderman Overhaul, The Bumblezone and Additional Lights.
- New: Inventory Particles. The enchant runes borrow its sprites, so they match the rest of your particles.
- New: ImmediatelyFast. Supported.
- Improved: Punchy. Outlines now survive the weapon-swap animation under shaders.
- Improved: GeckoLib. Layers drawn with the library's own glowing render type are included, so animated weapons keep their full outline.
- Improved: L_Ender's Cataclysm. No more duplicate under shaders.
- Compatibility files (fall back to the ring, per item): L_Ender's Cataclysm, Hazen N Stuff, Macabre, Cult of Azazel, Bosses'Rise, Ice and Fire, Born in Chaos, Eternal Starlight, Legendary Monsters, Mowzie's Mobs, Simply Swords, Paladins & Priests, Forbidden Arcanus, The Undergarden, Armor of the Ages, Mo'Bosses, Remnant Bosses, Extra Delight, Create, Create Stuff & Additions, Create Big Cannons, Mahou Tsukai, Mekanism, Silent Gear, Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks, Oritech, Ars Nouveau, Applied Energistics 2, Wither Skeleton Tweaks, Qliphoth Awakening.
- Still supported: Iris, Sodium, Punchy, Hold My Items, Gnetum, Accessories, Apotheosis, GeckoLib, Farmer's Delight, Mowzie's Mobs.
- Known limitation: Draconic Evolution draws its tools straight to the GPU with its own shaders, outside any path an outline can intercept. Its items are not outlined.
