Origins Legacy: Classes

An add-on to the Origins: Legacy mod for Fabric. Unofficial port of Origins: Classes for modern versions of Minecraft (1.21.1+), with additional compatibility improvements and enhancements planned for future versions.

In addition to choosing an origin, players also choose a class. Classes provide smaller benefits than origins, but come with no drawbacks.

Classes

Nitwit

Nitwits aren't really good at anything. :)

Farmer

Farmers have been known to provide everyone with food for as long as anyone can remember.

  • Bountiful Harvest. When harvesting crops, there is a chance that you receive twice the yield.
  • Fertilizing Techniques. Bone meal is twice as effective in your experienced hands when used on crops and plants.

Rancher

Making the most of animals, Ranchers are able to gather many useful resources.

  • Twin Births. Animals bred by you have a chance to produce two babies.
  • Scavenging. You are able to sometimes receive more material from killing animals.

Miner

Miners are the most proficient at digging up the earth's treasures.

  • Mining Expert. You mine material quicker than others with your pickaxe.
  • Experienced Excavator. Breaking blocks doesn't cause you to exhaust.

Lumberjack

Trees should watch out when Lumberjacks are around.

  • Timber! You cut down whole trees at once, unless you sneak.
  • Woodcutting. You gain two more wooden planks from a single log when crafting.

Cook

There is no one better to prepare your food than a Cook.

  • Smoking. You receive more experience from cooking food in a smoker.
  • Good Meals. Food crafted by you is more saturating.

Blacksmith

Valued friends of anyone, Blacksmiths are able to create better tools, weapons and armor.

  • High-Quality Equipment. Equipment you create provides small buffs.
  • Efficient Repairs. Repairing equipment in an anvil costs less material. Repairing by combining equipment restores more durability.

Cleric

They have learned how to channel the magic present in the world and use that to their advantage.

  • Extended Potions. As a last step in potion brewing, you can double a potion's duration with water from a cauldron.
  • Enchantment Mastery. You are able to produce better enchantments at an enchantment table.

Merchant

Always looking for an additional emerald, Merchants are proficient traders.

  • Restocking. Villagers you trade with never run out of resources to trade for you.
  • Charisma. You are able to convince wandering traders to offer some of their rarer items to you.

Explorer

Explorers find their way through the most difficult terrain easily and discover hidden landmarks.

  • Explorer Kit. You start the game with a compass, a clock and nine empty maps.
  • Fit. Sprinting doesn't cause you to exhaust.

Warrior

These honorable fighters favor the sword and shield to take down their foes.

  • Weapon Knowledge. Able to use each weapon to its fullest potential, you deal a bit more damage.
  • Shield Wield. You are slowed down less when protecting yourself with a shield.

Archer

One shot, one kill.

  • Accuracy. All of your projectiles have increased accuracy.
  • Agility. You can move quicker than others while drawing your bow.

Rogue

Usually known to be thieves and robbers, rogues are proficient in ambushes and stealth attacks.

  • Sneaky. Your nameplate is never visible through walls, even when you're not sneaking.
  • In the Shadows. When you have been sneaking for 10 seconds, you enter Stealth. While in stealth, you make less sound and deal extra damage when attacking an enemy from behind. You exit Stealth when you stop sneaking or attack an enemy.

Beastmaster

Beastmasters are solitary people who prefer the company of animals.

  • Fauna Friends. Animals you tame receive a permanent buff to their health and strength.
  • Effective Empathy. Your nearby tamed animals also receive potion effects when you drink a potion.

Datapacks

You can add custom classes via datapacks. Classes follow the standard Origins format, create an origin JSON file, then register it in the class layer at: data/origins-classes/origin_layers/class.json

For guidance on writing origins, refer to the official Origins wiki (1.10.0 branch), since Origins: Legacy is based on it.
