MC Rebalanced is a grass-roots rethink of almost every single feature and item in Minecraft, with progression as a high priority. Every loot table, every dimension, every tool and weapon has been changed with an emphasis on when and where you are within the confines of the game's traditional timeline. If you want a baseplate modpack to just play Minecraft as a game, this is it.
Contrary to what you might think, this pack does not massively impact the difficulty of the game. Instead, it pushes you to engage more with the challenging parts that are already present in vanilla.
Because the changes we've made would number in the hundreds, I'll only list a few here. If you'd like a full list, you can read the history of the pack on the Forgejo page!
Why? Because funny. Also we got tired of seeing people on the Internet complaining about the design flaws of one of the most malleable games in the world, as if somehow it could only be fixed by the developers.
What does this change? Practically everything short of the textures and saturation. Of the changes, the only one to remember for packbuilding is that diamonds come from the Nether, and netherite from the End.
How can I edit this? Assuming you know how datapacks work, you can find the source on our Forgejo page. We've also included a couple of utilities to make packing and adding new mods easier.
The bed mechanics suck! ...Yeah. We wanted to discourage just placing a bed before doing anything remotely dangerous, and TNT's Harder Beds is the only Forge mod we could find for that. We've made it much more lenient than usual, but you can just disable the mod if it annoys you. (Patched in 2.0.0)
Enchanting is a little buggy. Yeah, again. We really tried to find an enchanting upgrade for Forge, but we couldn't find any that explicitly touched on the enchantments themselves, so Sinytra's filling in the gaps for us. We're working on it. (Patched in 2.0.0)
Any plans for the future? Quite a lot, actually - the only reason we haven't acted on them yet is due to time constraints. If you're looking for a Fabric equivalent of this pack, be patient; it will come in time.~~ (This has already released)
Thanks to Sergeant λcoustic, my co-creator in this pack, for making things work everywhere I couldn't.
The following mods have been packaged as jars in the .mrpack file due to either compatibility changes or originating from Curseforge:
Because Enchancement has been packaged separately to avoid some errors with Sinytra Connector, we have obtained permission from MoriyaShiine for its inclusion in this pack. !Discord conversation between SergeantAcoustic and MoriyaShiine proving he allows the use of Enchancement in this pack.

A near-complete overhaul of almost all Minecraft's features with progression as a priority.
