v1.0.2 - Mod now works with Minecraft version: 1.21.9! Also please note that the items could play the landing sound twice, due to some complicated issues based on the speed of the item (horizontal). The mod works really well still, and the issue can be actually treated as an enhancement so it appears like the item bumped on the ground twice before landing fully!
