Infection is a datapack which adds an infection to the game, a new challenge that makes harder to survive.
This new effect can affect you at any time if you are not wearing a face mask. It reduces the movement speed, the attack damage, the attack speed and deals constant damage (the armor protects it). The only way to heal it is by eating a honey stew or dying, that is, milk does not work with this effect. It has its own behavior depending on the dimension and how long the player has been infected.
Overworld:Is a period of time during which you can't be infected. There is both global and individual grace pediod.
This new item is necessary wear to avoid getting infected. It has no armor points, it can't be re-dyed and the armor trims aren't seen on them. It has 80 durability, but loses 1 every 2.5 minutes. It can be crafted with any wool and two strings. If you try to dye a face mask or apply a trim on them, you will simply lose material. DON'T DO IT.
The zombies, husks, drowneds, skeletons, strays, piglins and zombified piglins have a chance to spawn with a random color face mask.
It is a new stew based on medieval medicines, which were made with flowers and honey. It is crafted with a suspicious stew and 4 honey bottles. The only way to remove the infection from the player without dying, is by eating the honey stew, with a 40% chance of effectiveness. Also by eating it, you will lose all the negative effects you have, like an intermediate between the milk bucket and the honey bottle.
Optifine is recomended for a better experience with the datapack, but it's not totally necesary. However, the resource-pack is totally necesary.
