Icarian Origin

Overview 🗒️

Adds in the Icarian Origin, my take on an elytra-based origin submitted for the Cloud Jam on the Origins Discord.

Special thanks to @biotechproject27 & @darm7248 on the Origins Discord for the Velytra power system (it allows for elytra velocity detection!)

Base Origin Changes 🧍

• Adds in the Hubris power for Human Origins which the crafting recipe below:

  

• When worn, this item irreversibly changes a Human into an Icarian.

Icarian Powerlist 🪽

Handcrafted Wings ✈️

You have wings fused to your back, which allows for flight. The wings have "durability" shown as a bar, which runs out after flying for one minute total. If you run out of durability, your wings cannot be used for flight.

Press the primary ability button to open the "Wing Inventory", a 5-slot inventory where specific items can be put. Only one item per slot can be put, but these items have differing effects, both positive and negative. If the wings run out of durability, the left-most item in your Wing Inventory is consumed to fully repair them. A very rough list of item effects can be found in the gallery.

Smoky Updraft 🔥

While you cannot use firework rockets to boost yourself in the air, you can fly over campfires to boost upwards. Directly inspired by the Aileron Mod.

Wonderous Winds 🌬️

Different biome conditions allow for faster aerial movement in a specific cardinal direction. Note that this only works in the Overworld.

Usurper of the Skies 🗡️

Dealing damage to entities also damages their elytra's durability. Dealing more than or equal to 9 damage to an entity disables their elytra, even if it is attached to their Origin. Note: The in-game description is wrong about the elytra stunlock ability; reference this instead.

Aerial Combatant 🚀

Deal 1.5x attack damage when striking while flying, but take just as much kinetic damage. At certain speeds, you can run into entities to knock them back and damage them, at the cost of some recoil damage.

Leftover Scars ❤️‍🩹

You have one less heart, as well as slower movement and attack speeds.

Redundant 🚫

You cannot wear chestplates or other elytra.
