• Every so often, something sends you a short, direct chat message — never narration, always addressed straight at you
• Messages adapt to what's actually happening: alone, underground, at night, standing still too long, deep into a long session, or low on health each have their own set of lines, picked based on your real situation at that moment
• Falls back to a general pool when nothing specific applies

• Enable/disable
• How often messages can trigger (minimum/maximum interval)
• Broadcast to everyone or per-player
• Whether messages use your in-game name
