The long awaited v2.3 is here! Lots of features and changes so buckle up if you're a patch notes enjoyer
New ✅
Tackle Boxes 🎣
Tackle boxes have been added as a storage solution for fishes, hooks, bobbers, baits, as well as your new way to swap your rod's attachments!
They can be mined and picked up and carry their items like a shulker box.
There's an optional server config to allow for any items instead of only #placeable_in_tackle_box
Baits, Hooks & Bobbers menu can no longer be opened by crouch + right clicking with a rod. You must now use a tackle box to change these. A config defaulted to false to enable the menu has been added

Golden Fishes 🐟 💸
There are now super rare Golden Fishes which have a 1% chance of being fished up (modifiable by modifiers & config setting)
These gold fishes will sell for 10x the price and be gold tinted! They can only be caught once per player so it's a very precious item to decide what to do with!

Aquariums
Aquariums are a multiblock dynamic "structure" which you can use for decoration.
You can place different decorations inside the aquarium by clicking with the respective item in it.
You may also place Starcatcher bucketed fishes inside the aquarium which will render as a fake entity to prevent any kind of performance impacts on the server.
Normal fishes may also be placed and they will swim around as normal`

Player Written Messages-in-a-bottle
Players can now write their own letters to bottle up and send to the ocean. Other players on the server can fish up those messages and read them
These are different than the implemented Secret Notes already prevent in v2.2
The bottles can also be thrown for a weird yet somewhat effective long rage weapon

New Trophies
Three new trophies have been added!
Previously known as Bronze and Silver have been renamed to Copper and Iron to fit better with minecraft. Emerald and Diamond have also been added, with a speacial last trophy for obtaining every golden fish available.

New Hooks & Bobbers
A lot of new Hooks & bobbers have been added, and other existing ones have changed slightly to be better balanced and be more interesting than before.
The crystal hook has been made into an Amethyst Hook to better fit minecraft.

Fish Models & Size Scaling
A bunch more fish have gotten fish models! You can see them by using a bucket as a bait and obtaining the bucketed version of the fish, or using an Almighty Worm to fish up the entity.
Fish models will now be scaled based on their percentile, with a server config allowing to modify the max and min scale size (default 0.5x and 1.5x)

Selling Bin
Starcatcher now includes wd's Selling Bin which allows you to sell fishes for emeralds! wd's Selling Bin is a completely datapack-driven so Starcatcher features a built-in datapack to accomodate for it. You can disable the built-in datapack with the /datapack command and customize everything to your liking. Check wd's Selling Bin's Wiki to learn more
You can check the price of each item by holding shift when hovering the item

Display Block
You can now display your fishes in the display block which will also scale based on their percentile
You can also place your guide in the Display Block for decoration!

Guide Signing
You can now sign your guide which will store all the catches you had at the time of signing, to share with your friends or showcase in the display block for everyone to check!

Fisherman Hat's
New Cosmetics have been added in the form of Fisherman Hats! These can be found in shipwrecks and may provide some unique buffs to fishing, on top of looking super fashionable

Guide Improvements
Several new entries have been added to the Help section of the guide to include all the new features! They also now display every item related to the entry with a fancy scrollable UI
Lots os miscellaneous changes and improvements were done, such as the compass now correctly pointing north & being interactable.

Fishing Rod Skins, Tackle Skins & Templates
Skins are now obtainable through the use of templates! Templates can be found from different places, check EMI/JEI or the Wiki for more info.
Templates may also now have modifiers which will transfer onto your rod when applied.
Tackle Skins are planned to be reworked for v2.4 to be dynamic based on the hook & bobber equiped

Conches, Clams, and Pearls
Clams and Conches can now be placed down for decoration (including Aquarium support!). Clams will slowly grow a pearl which can be collected and sold, or used to craft some cosmetics.

Netherite Upgrading & Rod Tooltip
Netherite upgrading has been given the lava-fishing modifier to be more data-driven, and the fishing rod has been given a tooltip to easily see what's slotted in it!
The rod will now also display the buffs of the slotted items, so you don't need to open the tackle box to check your buffs.

Technical Changes 🔧
Lots of API and works of the registries were changed. This means Datapacks will not be compatible from v2.2 and need to be adjusted.
The biggest change is that fish restrictions are now registry-driven allowing for addons or 3rd party mods to add their own restrictions! With this change a huge part of the fish properties json was changed.
Treasures have been moved outside the fish entry and are now a Neoforge datamap to allow for easy use of fish tags and per-fish customization on a larger scale
Modifiers Application is now done through a Neoforge Datamap allowing for extremely easy datapack customization of which items have which modifier
Lots of additional config settings have been added, including global difficulty adjustments which has been requested a lot.
