Dungeon Train modpack v0.670.0 — bundles Dungeon Train v0.670.0 + Sable for NeoForge 1.21.1.

A book that counts, and a room full of them

Chests, pots and bookshelves now turn up Stats Books. Open one and it is a coin-flip: either a tall leaderboard, ranking every player on the train and closing on where you stand — or a short note from Faulthurst about your own run, naming one real number from it. You never know which until you read it. Dimensional carriages can now be stocked with the whole tally instead of one author's writing: every leaderboard and every run stat the train keeps, 47 books, shelved in one room with a note on the lectern explaining what you have walked into. Room authors set how often that happens in the Books screen.

  • New Stats Book, found in loot — half leaderboard, half a note about your own run
  • Leaderboard books moved out of the random-book pool onto their own loot entry
  • Dimensional carriages can shelve the complete tally: 29 leaderboards + 18 run stats
  • Stats joins Self, Player and Signature as a fourth share in a room's Books mix

The Tallyman's books turn up all over the train

Leaderboard books are no longer something you mostly find on a bookshelf. They now surface across the train's chests, pots and villager stashes, so a board can turn up wherever you are rather than only where the books are kept. Where a container already offered reading matter, the leaderboard book takes a share of that rather than adding to it, so your odds of finding some book are unchanged — only which book shifts.

  • Leaderboard books can now be found in fishing, mining, villager, ore and pottery loot
  • Villager stashes get their first book of any kind
  • A leaderboard book can appear in the starting chest

The Free Play badge says why it's on

Hover the Free Play effect in your inventory and it now tells you what turned it on — the game mode you switched to, the command you ran, a changed setting, a cheat mod it found. Before, that reason was said once in chat and then scrolled away, so joining a world that was already in Free Play left you with a badge and no explanation. The tooltip also got shorter: the reason leads, the consequences fit on one line.

  • The Free Play tooltip names what triggered it, including settings changed or cheat mods detected
  • The reason survives logging out, so a world you come back to still explains itself

Container menu now shows item icons

The container contents menu (C) lists each item by its inventory icon instead of its name, so rows stay compact and long item names no longer spill across the count and weight columns. Click an icon to reveal that item's name beside it; click again to hide it.

  • Item rows lead with the inventory icon — narrower panel, no overlapping text
  • Click an icon to reveal its name; only that row's column widens

Faulthurst leaves you a note about your own run

A new book turns up in the train's loot, signed by Faulthurst. It greets you by name and names one real number from your current life — the carriage you've reached, how long you've been aboard, how many chests you've opened, the longest stretch you went without opening a thing. The number stays live while you carry the book and freezes the moment you read it, so what you find inside is your run exactly as it stood when you opened it.

  • Eighteen things he might remark on, twelve of them the one-life half of a leaderboard board.
  • He never mentions something that hasn't happened — a number has to be worth a page before he'll write it down.
  • Seven ways he opens and twenty ways he signs off, from "Keep it up." to "Why?"
  • Written in every language Dungeon Train speaks.

Dimensional carriages can keep their own walls as they repeat

An endless dimensional carriage used to dissolve its own walls as it repeated — the wall between two copies was carved away so the space read as one continuous hall, taking whatever the builder had put on it with it. Rooms can now be built the other way instead: every copy keeps the walls it was drawn with, and you walk between copies through the doorways the builder left. Existing rooms are untouched.

  • New Room Walls setting on a dimensional carriage: Merged (as before) or Kept
  • Kept rooms repeat their walls exactly, including the wall the way back to the train stands in
  • The library dimension now keeps its walls

Dimensional carriage lighting fades instead of jumping

Walking into a dimensional carriage no longer snaps the lighting. The corridor now fades once from the light of the world the train is running through to the light of the room at the far end, so crossing between the carriage and its copy is something you feel rather than something you see happen. Turn it off with the new crossingFade client setting.

  • One smooth lighting fade along the corridor instead of a jump
  • The change is gradual with distance, from the train door to the room door
  • Turning around mid-corridor no longer flashes the lighting
  • New crossingFade client setting restores the old hard cut

Some of the named pigs riding the train answer to a more famous name. A small tribute, and a rare one — you will not meet one every trip.

Paintings now stay put in dimensional carriages

Paintings and item frames hung in dimensional carriages now stick around properly.

A heads-up when a connection blocker is in the way

If you run a DPI-bypass tool like zapret or GoodbyeDPI to reach Discord and YouTube, Dungeon Train now tells you once, on the title screen, that it may be sitting between you and brennan.games. Those tools reroute traffic at the driver level, and when they catch DT's traffic the online features don't fail loudly — community books, shared carriages and the rest just quietly never arrive. Now you get told why, instead of wondering where they went.

  • One-time notice on the title screen, with a 'Don't show again' if you already know.
  • The check is local: it looks at the names of running programs on your own PC, and sends nothing anywhere.
  • Only shown if you've allowed the mod to use the network — otherwise there is nothing to interfere with.

The Tallyman's books — 29 leaderboards riding the train

A new kind of book turns up in chests: a leaderboard, kept by The Tallyman. Each one covers a single board — furthest carriage, longest aboard, most chests opened, kindest benefactors and twenty-five more — lists the top players on it, and closes by telling you where you stand. If you are not on it, it says so rather than inventing a rank for you. Boards that make sense both ways come in a matched pair, one life and all lives, so you can see whether you are good at a run or good at the game. Among the new ones: distance covered, measured from where you started rather than by how far you have paced up and down a carriage.

  • Leaderboard books spawn among the train's other random books
  • 29 boards, many paired as one-life and all-lives
  • Distance covered now measures how far down the line you got, not steps taken
  • New boards for people cursed, lovers, most loved, and biggest single gift
  • Breaking a vase no longer ends a Walk Past The Loot streak — a vase is not loot
  • Every rank gets two lines, so long names are never truncated to fit a score
