Dragon Glass

Dragon Glass is an endgame equipment expansion mod that adds a new post-Netherite gear tier built around progression through The End.

Instead of replacing Netherite, Dragon Glass extends vanilla progression by giving players a powerful new reason to keep exploring after reaching Netherite. Players can craft Dragon Glass, find upgrade templates through End progression, and upgrade their existing Netherite tools and armour into a new transparent, glowing equipment set.

What does Dragon Glass add?

Dragon Glass adds a full new material tier above Netherite, including:

• Dragon Glass material
• Dragon Glass sword
• Dragon Glass pickaxe
• Dragon Glass axe
• Dragon Glass shovel
• Dragon Glass hoe
• Full Dragon Glass armour set
• Dragon Glass Upgrade Smithing Template
• End progression-based upgrade template acquisition
• Transparent worn armour
• Built-in red enchant-style glow, even when the item is not enchanted
• Armour trims that affect the glow colour

Progression

Dragon Glass is designed to fit naturally after Netherite.

First, players craft Dragon Glass using rare vanilla materials:

• Obsidian
• Crying Obsidian
• Eye of Ender

After obtaining Dragon Glass and the Dragon Glass Upgrade Smithing Template, players can use the smithing table to upgrade their Netherite equipment into Dragon Glass equipment.

This keeps Netherite valuable while adding a new late-game upgrade path for players who want stronger, more visually unique gear.

Visual style

Dragon Glass armour is partially transparent when worn and has a built-in red enchant-style glow by default. Armour trims can alter the glow colour, allowing players to customise the look of their equipment while keeping the Dragon Glass style.

Installation

Install the mod on both the client and the server.

The client needs the mod for items, armour rendering, textures, transparency, glow effects, and visual features.

The server needs the mod for recipes, items, smithing upgrades, loot/progression, and gameplay functionality.

Compatibility

Dragon Glass is designed as a vanilla-style equipment expansion. It does not replace Netherite or remove vanilla progression. Instead, it adds a new tier after Netherite.
