Versioning

• Minecraft version: 26.2
• DeathMessages release version: 1.0.0

Versions follow <minecraft-version>-<deathmessages-version>. The DeathMessages portion uses semantic versioning (MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH):

• MAJOR — incompatible or substantial architectural or behavioural changes
• MINOR — backwards-compatible new functionality
• PATCH — backwards-compatible bug fixes and minor corrections

A change to Minecraft compatibility changes the version prefix even when the DeathMessages functionality itself has not substantially changed.

Version 1.0.0 is the first stable, feature-complete release of the initial DeathMessages scope.

The current release persists one latest death per player in last-deaths.yml.
