Update 2.1
Molten Cavern:
World Gen
- Removed Ash Layer and Ash Block spawning
- Tweaked molten pools to have more padding of blocks around them
- Added Magma Pads to spawn on lava pools
- Added Scorched Remains
- Added big piles of Scorched Remains
- Added a Magma Block carver that places long stretches of Magma Blocks
- Added a similar carver for Tuff that places long stretches of Tuff
- Added large Darkslate spikes that generate from the floor and ceiling
- Added small Petrified Roots hanging from the ceiling
- Switched to surface rules for darkslate generation
- Should result in zero unintentional Stone or Deepslate inside the molten cavern biome
- Removed Amber Clusters from the biome
Darkslate
- Darkslate now can be ‘heated’
- Darkslate now has 5 stages of being heated (0-4).
- Darkslate can be heated by touching lava or magma blocks.
- Tags added for each level of heat so that any block can be added as a heat source
Scorched Remains
- Found randomly on the ground in the Molten Cavern
- Has a 50% chance to drop charcoal when broken without silk touch.
- Smelts 10 items.
- Crafted with Charcoal and Rotten Flesh.
- Can be made into a block.
Block of Scorched Remains
- Smelts 24 items
- Made with Rotten Flesh and Charcoal
- Found naturally under Geysers
- When placed under a Geyser, the Geysers will spread hot ash particles.
Geyser
- No longer boosts constantly
- Now bursts randomly that boosts the player upwards with a big particle burst.
- Particles change whether there is lava or water on top of the geyser, or whether the geyser has magma beneath it to boost the burst effect.
- Placing a Block of Scorched Remains beneath a Geyser will spawn glowing ash particles around the Geyser.
- Powering the Geyser with redstone will halt it from bursting until the power is taken away.
- When being unpowered, the geyser will instantly burst.
Scorcher Mob
- A large eye that does damage with its fiery stare.
- Can only spawn with world generation
- Does damage that ramps up the longer the eye maintains eye contact.
- Does 0 damage the first second, then does 1 more damage for every second the player is in view.
- Can spot and attack players up to 48 blocks away.
- The player will need to keep breaking line of sight to be effective against it.
- When a Scorcher kills a mob/player, it will place Scorched Remains where it was killed.
- If the player looks directly into the eye, it will flash the player and blind them.
Amber Clusters
- Removed from Molten Cavern
- Added to Sandy Catacombs
Ash & Ash Block
- Ash has been ‘removed’
- The blocks and items will still exist as they are now, but will no longer generate.
- Tooltip will now display a ‘press shift’ description explaining they are legacy blocks now.
Magma Pad
- ‘Lily Pad’ but for lava
- Burns the player if not crouching similar to magma blocks when stepped on
Dead Living Crystal
- Renamed to “Crystal Husk”
- Can now be heated
- When heated, living crystals will not grow
Living Crystal
- Can now be heated
- When heated, crystal melons cannot be grown
Crystal Melon
- Added passive particles when placed
Sandy Catacombs:
World Gen
- Added surface rules such that Aridrock and mud will always be placed on the surface of the cave
- Added a Duskrock carver that places long stretches of Duskrock padded by mud
- Added small Petrified Roots hanging from the ceiling
- Added Amber Cluster spawning
Body Snatcher
- Now effects the player with Paranoia on attack
Paranoia Altar
- Now gives off particles when given a Void Soul Requiem
Arid Deepslate
- Removed rotations
Glowshroom Cavern
Glowshroom Monster
- Now has passive regeneration (1hp/sec)
- Will allow it to continually patrol its area without getting picked off by other mobs
- Added running animation
- Previously, this looked very awkward when chasing targets
- Should no longer get stuck when traversing up blocks
- Now only attacks undead mobs
- Now uses the tag glowshroom_monster_target for entities it targets
- Has a 50% damage reduction against undead mobs
- Only drops glowshroom cap if killed by the player
Glowshroom Cap
- Reduced durability to 88
- Reduced armor from 1 to 0
Glimmering Vines
- Now has passive particles
General:
Biolith / Terrablender
- Added as a dependency
- Biome parameters are now added back into the config
- When both Terrablender and Biolith are installed at the same time, DD will use Terrablender, but this can be changed in the config.
Fog
- Custom fog is added per biome to be much thicker and fits the biome much more correctly.
- Can be disabled/adjusted in the config.
Advancements
- Added 11 new advancements for Darker Depths progression
Pillars
- Added Darkslate, Duskrock, & Grimestone Pillars
- All Pillars are now rotatable on x and z axis
Petrified Mineshaft
- Petrified mineshaft variant can be found in the Molten Cavern and Sandy Catacombs biomes.
World Gen
- Fixed block tags for stone like blocks that would prevent ores from generating.
- Switched from feature placement to surface rules for biome block placement, should be a decent performance improvement. This also means that biomes will not have stone blocks that don’t belong in them.
- Many features have been tweaked and adjusted with all cave biomes.
Creative menu
- Added stiletto enchantments to Darker Depths creative tab
Chiseled Blocks
- New textures for Aridrock, Duskrock, and Darkslate Chiseled Bricks
Petrified Roots
- New textures
