1. New Mobs

• Cinder Iron Golem (Iron Golem variant; can be built like an Iron Golem, but the base requires Cinder Iron Blocks and Ashesite Blocks)

  • Taunts nearby hostile mobs (hostile mobs with an attack target are forced to target the Cinder Iron Golem).
  • Has higher damage reduction and some traits of Ashes mobs (but is not itself an Ashes mob).
  • Possesses exceptional attacking power against Ashes mobs.
  • Has multiple combo attacks; player-built Cinder Iron Golems have even stronger defense.

• Ashes Erosion Frog (Frog variant; spawns in the Nether)

  • Passive mob; periodically applies Ash Erosion to all mobs in range.
  • Can walk on lava.

• Ashen Crystal Butterfly

  • Passive mob (spawns only in the Ashen Forest biome).
  • Can be captured with a Glass Jar.
  • Added related advancements.
  • Considered food by Ashes Erosion Frogs.

2. New Items

• Glass Jar

  • Used to capture Ashen Crystal Butterflies (a jar containing butterflies can be used as a light source).
  • Crafted from Glass + any Log + Ash.

• Lava Charm

  • A curio (can be equipped in the charm slot).
  • When worn, grants the following effects:
    • Fire Immunity.
    • Attacks deal additional fire damage and ignite the target.
    • Reflects fire damage when hit.
    • On critical hit, deals fire damage to mobs in a certain radius and sets them on fire.
    • Killing mobs grants a buff.
    • Increased healing bonus while in fire or lava.

3. New Effect

• Fragile (increases damage taken).

6. New Mechanics

Ashen Biome Mechanics

• Repulsion

  • Non-Ashen mobs entering an Ashen biome receive the following debuffs:
    • Damage taken increased by 160%.
    • Healing halved.
    • Final damage dealt reduced by 20%.
  • (These debuffs can be removed by the Erosion Brand curio.)

• Assimilation

  • Non-Ashen mobs (excluding players) entering an Ashen biome periodically undergo a conversion check (same chance as the Ashen Fire Transformation mechanic). On success, they are converted into their corresponding Ashen mob.

Global Mechanic

• Ashes Backlash
  • Every mob except Ashen mobs has a Backlash accumulation gauge (max 100, configurable, starts at 0). When Backlash accumulation reaches its maximum, the mob takes high burst damage based on its own max health.
  • Backlash progress accumulates through the following:
    • Entering an Ashen biome.
    • Ash Burning / Ash Erosion effects (Ash Burning greatly accelerates Backlash accumulation).
    • Being attacked by Ashen mobs.
    • Taking Ashen damage.
    • Being attacked by a mob/player wearing an Erosion Brand.
    • Attacks from Ashesite-series equipment.
  • Backlash accumulation does not reset on death.
  • Backlash accumulation does not decay naturally.
  • Wearing a full Ashesite set significantly slows Backlash accumulation.
  • Carrying a Glass Jar containing at least one Ashen Crystal Butterfly (or being near a jar containing them) slowly reduces Backlash accumulation.
  • Having the Ash Erosion effect delays the burst, but the overflow is converted into higher burst damage.
  • After the burst, the mob enters a cooldown period during which Backlash does not accumulate for a short time, but the mob also gains a high-level Fragile effect.
  • Ashen mobs are immune to this mechanic.
  • Jade integration (Backlash progress of the target mob can be viewed through Jade).

Mobs

• Ashes Skeleton
  • Ashes Skeletons can now ride players (if a player is ridden by an Ashes Skeleton, they can press Shift repeatedly to break free) (requires config to be enabled).
• Quenched Magma Cube
  • When a maximum-size Quenched Magma Cube is killed, it has an 8% chance to additionally drop a Lava Heart (used to craft the Lava Charm, or as fuel).

Biomes

• Ash Plains
  • Added grass vegetation decoration.

Miscellaneous

1. Redrew the Ashes Light texture.
2. Added transformation particles.
3. Added smelting recipes for ores.
