Modular Poké Balls is a Cobblemon addon that lets you build your own Poké Ball. You pick a lid pattern for the top and a separate one for the bottom, colour every section plus the rim and the button, and drop in a core to set the catch power. With 25 designs, 16 colours, and independent top and bottom halves, there are 3,088,595,353,600 different balls, before you even count the core.

What's new in 2.0

• The Lid System. 25 classic patterns in 1, 2, 3, and 4 colour sections: Poké, Great, Ultra, Beast, Safari, Master, Luxury, and more. A Great-style top on a Moon base is perfectly legal.
• Live previews. The workbench shows a large composite preview and the inventory sprite at 2x size. They display the pattern in gray template form right from the start, and update the moment you place or remove an apricorn.
• Hover highlighting. Hover a slot and the matching part lights up on both previews while the rest of the ball dims, so you always know exactly where a colour is going.
• Display mode. Put a finished ball in the core slot and it stays on the workbench: rotating in 3D above the block, with a sprite on the tabletop and the design in the GUI.
• Every seed is craftable. Any apricorn seed plus the matching dye crafts that colour's seed, all 16 of them.
• Configurable catch rates. Every tier can be tuned in the server config.

How it works

Craft the Modular Ball Workbench from the seven standard Cobblemon apricorns (red, blue, yellow, green, pink, white, black), an iron ingot, and a crafting table.

The workbench has slots for the top lid, bottom lid, rim, button, and core. The lid sections take apricorns in the colours you want, and the core sets the catch power:

Each ball shows its catch rate as a grey subtitle on the tooltip, or "Guaranteed capture" for the Master tier. Hold Shift and it lists the colours used on every part.

Your design shows everywhere: inventory, in hand, thrown, party, PC, and summary screens, and the throw and send-out animations match it.

Lid designs

• 1-colour: Poké
• 2-colour: Dive, Dream, Dusk, Fast, Great, Heal, Heavy, Love, Nest, Net, Quick, Sport, Ultra
• 3-colour: Beast, Friend, Level, Lure, Master, Moon, Park, Repeat, Safari, Timer
• 4-colour: Luxury

The selectors sort by colour count, then alphabetically.

Getting your colours

Red, blue, yellow, green, pink, white, and black apricorns grow in the world like Cobblemon's normal apricorns. For the other nine (orange, magenta, light blue, gray, light gray, cyan, purple, brown, khaki), plant a seed on apricorn leaves and let it grow into an apricorn you can harvest. Each fruit has a small chance to drop another seed, so every colour is renewable.

Other details

• Designs and colours survive world reloads, missed throws, and captures. Catch a Pokémon with a custom ball and it keeps that ball in its party, PC, and summary screens
• The workbench keeps its contents while closed, and drops itself plus everything inside when mined
• Apricorns can be smelted into their matching dyes
• Needs Cobblemon 1.7.3+ and Kotlin for Forge on NeoForge 1.21.1
