Список изменений

Added

Configuration

  • Configuration system (config/chronodawn.toml) — first cross-loader configuration slice. Currently exposes Ancient Ruins generation parameters (enabled, spacing, separation, salt); the file is hand-edited TOML, regenerated with documented defaults on first run, and hot-reload-immune (changes require a server / world restart). Modpack creators can ship a pre-configured file via pack overrides. See docs/configuration.md and docs/modpack-integration.md.
  • Ore generation tuning for Time Crystal, Entropy Crystal, and Temporal Amber — exposes enabled, count, y_min, y_max per ore via config/chronodawn.toml. See docs/configuration.md.
  • Clockstone ore generation tuning — exposes enabled, count, y_min, y_max for chronodawn:ore_clockstone via config/chronodawn.toml, completing the per-ore tuning surface for the four ChronoDawn-specific ores. See docs/configuration.md.

New Blocks

  • Temporal Aquatic Plants — replace vanilla aquatic vegetation in the ChronoDawn dimension. Pre-existing chunks retain whatever vanilla aquatic blocks they generated; only newly generated chunks place the Temporal variants below.
    • Phase 1 — Vegetation in chronodawn_ocean and chronodawn_swamp:
      • Temporal Kelp — pale-cyan kelp columns (1–25 blocks tall) growing upward from the ocean floor; bone-meal grows the column, shears harvest the block. The Temporal Kelp head and Temporal Kelp Plant stem are climbable like vanilla kelp
      • Temporal Seagrass and Tall Temporal Seagrass — short and 2-block-tall variants on the ocean floor; bone-meal on a short seagrass produces the tall variant; shears drop the seagrass item. Temporal Seagrass is registered as turtle food
      • Dried Temporal Kelp — food item smoked / smelted / campfire-cooked from Temporal Kelp. Nutrition 1, saturation 0.6, and the same fast-eat animation (0.865 s) as vanilla dried kelp. Cooking times match vanilla: 5 s in a smoker, 10 s in a furnace, 30 s on a campfire
    • Phase 2 — Light in chronodawn_ocean:
      • Lumen Polyp — bioluminescent sea-pickle-like cluster (1–4 polyps per block) generated naturally on the chronodawn_ocean floor, biased toward 1–2 polyp clusters. Emits light underwater scaling with the polyp count (6 / 9 / 12 / 15 light level for 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 polyps respectively, matching vanilla SeaPickleBlock); emits 0 light above water. Bone-meal underwater grows the polyp count up to 4. Drops 1–4 Lumen Polyp items matching the count when broken (no tool requirement). Available across all 11 supported Minecraft versions
    • Phase 2 — Color in chronodawn_ocean:
      • Dawn / Dusk / Twilight / Eternal Chrono Coral — decorative single-block aquatic plants using the Time Wood palette. They do not emit light; Lumen Polyp remains the dedicated underwater light source. Drops require shears, matching seagrass-style harvesting
  • Faded Plains terrain blocks — dry-themed surface blocks introduced together with the new Faded Plains biome (see New Biomes below):
    • Faded Temporal Grass — short, baked yellow-brown cross-plant. Drops itself with shears. Tagged replaceable and sword_efficient. Texture is fixed-color (no biome tint).
    • Parched Temporal Dirt — cracked dry dirt block. Mineable with shovel; tagged minecraft:dirt so vegetation that uses the dirt tag (custom and vanilla) can survive on it.
    • Temporal Dead Bush — withered bush cross-plant. Drops itself with shears, otherwise drops 0–2 sticks. Survives on Chrono Dawn dry terrain (Temporal Sand / Temporal Dirt / Coarse Temporal Dirt / Parched Temporal Dirt / Temporal Gravel) plus vanilla Sand and Red Sand. Will not survive on grass blocks.
  • Lighting blocks:
    • Time Torches (Orange / Pink / Purple) — colored decorative torch variants with floor and wall placement. Crafted from the matching Time Blossom + Stick (4 torches per recipe)
    • Temporal Lantern, Dawn Lantern, and Dusk Lantern — pickaxe-mined light sources using the vanilla lantern shape (3D rendering, animated flame, standing and hanging placement). Dawn/Dusk Lantern crafted from the matching Bell flower (+ iron nuggets + torch); Temporal Lantern crafted from any Time Blossom (+ iron nuggets + torch)
    • Recipe advancements unlock the Time Torch / Lantern recipes when the player picks up the relevant Time Blossom or Bell
  • Temporal Stalactites and Temporal Stalagmites — decorative pointed cave blocks themed on Temporal Stone, generating across all ChronoDawn dimension biomes. Two sizes per direction (tip and frustum) form length-1 and length-2 formations on cave ceilings (stalactite) and floors (stalagmite). Pickaxe-mined at stone tier; tip blocks self-drop while frustum drops the matching tip so worldgen-only formations still produce a usable item when broken. Landing on an upward-facing tip deals enhanced fall damage matching vanilla pointed_dripstone. Breaking the root of a column (the stalactite block attached to the ceiling, or the stalagmite block attached to the floor) cascades and drops every connected dripstone block in the same direction. Vanilla pointed_dripstone and Dripstone Caves remain untouched
  • Temporal Grass, Temporal Tall Grass, and Temporal Fern — decorative cross-plants that replace minecraft:short_grass, minecraft:tall_grass, and minecraft:fern in newly generated Chrono Dawn chunks. Biome-tinted, drop wheat seeds on harvest (parity with vanilla grass), and accept bone-meal for the tall variant.
  • Other decorative blocks:
    • Mossy Temporal Stone Bricks — additional brick variant for the Temporal Stone family.
    • Chrono Cobwebs — biome-tinted cobweb variant generated in Chrono Dawn caves.
    • Clockwork Dial — thin decorative block with custom collision and model.

New Mobs

  • Chrono Bovine — friendly cow-equivalent that drops Chrono Bovine Meat, a raw food item smeltable/smokable/campfire-cookable into Cooked Chrono Bovine Meat (recipe unlocks on pickup).
  • Chrono Ursid — polar-bear-equivalent neutral mob sized to match vanilla polar bears.
  • Temporal Caprid — goat-equivalent mob.

New Biomes

  • Faded Plains (chronodawn:chronodawn_faded_plains) — a time-worn wasteland in the hot/medium-humidity slot of the Chrono Dawn dimension, adjacent to the desert. Yellow-brown ground tint, sparse withered grass, dead bushes, parched-dirt patches, and bare snags from long-stripped trees. Reduced fauna (only Timebound Rabbit and Time Keeper). No precipitation. Worldgen places patch_faded_grass, patch_temporal_dead_bush, disk_parched_temporal_dirt, and dead_snag_placed features on the surface. Temporal Gravel patches generated in this biome adopt a warm yellow-brown tint to fit the withered theme; Temporal Sand keeps its original cool color so it stays visually continuous with neighboring desert sand. The grass-edge gradient pulls cool near sand and is suppressed near gravel inside the biome (no overcrowded brown-on-brown bands).

Worldgen Polish

  • Small ambient structures — seven new NBT-defined micro-structures scatter across Chrono Dawn biomes: Watchmaker's Camp (with chest loot), Hourglass Monolith, Old Sundial, Petrified Adventurer (with snowy variant), Time Cairn, Time Well, and Upside-Down Tree.
  • Tall Time Wood trees as 2x2 mega forms — Ancient / Dark / Fruit-of-Time tall tree variants now generate as 2x2 trunk mega trees.
  • Tree variation — Time Wood trees gain height and foliage shape variation across all variants.
  • Time Wood leaves — leaf color now varies subtly per-position so canopies are no longer flat-colored.
  • Temporal Grass Block — gains a water-proximity wet tint and a smoothly blended edge gradient where it borders Temporal Sand / Temporal Gravel.
  • Snowy biome boundaries smoothed at chunk and biome edges.
  • Dark Forest vegetation density increased.
  • Swamp biome now generates ponds and mud patches.

New Recipes

  • Stonecutter recipes for Temporal Stone and Temporal Cobblestone variants (stairs, slabs, walls, bricks).

Translation Infrastructure

  • Translation contribution guide added to CONTRIBUTING.md, plus a translator-facing glossary at docs/translation-glossary.md and a scripts/check_lang_parity.py Python script that verifies non-English lang files share keys with en_us.json. Aimed at lowering the barrier for community translators to submit <locale>.json PRs.

Changed

  • Ancient Ruins spawn rate reduced. Placement spacing increased from 24 to 56 chunks (separation 8 → 20), and the eligible biome tag narrowed from "all forests + all taigas" to taiga variants + dark forest. Existing worlds keep already-generated ruins; only newly explored chunks reflect the change.
  • Vanilla ore veins disabled in Chrono Dawn — vanilla copper/iron ore veins no longer generate inside the Chrono Dawn dimension; use the Temporal ore variants instead.
  • Vanilla land monsters removed from Chrono Dawn biomes — Witches no longer spawn in mountain/desert/dark forest/snowy/swamp biomes, Strays no longer spawn in snowy, Slimes no longer spawn in swamp, and Drowned no longer spawn in ocean. Ambient/creature mobs (Bat, Wolf, Frog) and ocean water mobs (Squid, Cod, Salmon, Dolphin, Pufferfish, Tropical Fish) remain for atmosphere. Existing chunks keep their spawned mobs; only newly generated chunks reflect the change.
  • Chrono Dawn water palette — water surface and fog colors tuned to be visually consistent across biomes.
  • Refined item textures for Time Crystal, Clockstone, Entropy Crystal, and Mossy Temporal Cobblestone.
  • Temporal Walls now tagged under #minecraft:walls, enabling tag-based vanilla interactions.
  • Clockstone tools and sword now use the item/handheld parent model so they render correctly in the hand.
  • Creative tab order — Entropy Crystal Sword repositioned after the Enhanced Clockstone set.
  • Forgotten Library and Desert Clock Tower spawn biomes expanded — Forgotten Library now generates in Plains, Forest, Prairies, and Faded Plains (was Plains only), so the Portal Stabilizer blueprint is no longer locked behind a single biome; Desert Clock Tower now also generates in Faded Plains (only Ocean remains excluded). Existing worlds keep already-generated structures; only newly explored chunks reflect the change.

Fixed

  • Custom mob attack animations — Hostile mobs now show visible attack animations during melee strikes. Previously the model stayed in its idle pose with no visual cue that the strike happened. Affected mobs: Epoch Husk, Clockwork Sentinel, Hourglass Golem, Floq, Forgotten Minute, Paradox Crawler, Temporal Wraith, Timeline Strider, Chronal Leech, and the bosses Time Guardian, Time Tyrant, Entropy Keeper, Chronos Warden, Temporal Phantom, and Clockwork Colossus. The boss attack animations specifically were dead code on Minecraft 1.21.2+ because the renderer never extracted attackTime from the entity. Animations match each mob's closest vanilla analog: Iron Golem-style overhead slam for golems, Husk-style arm thrust for zombie-likes, Spider-style rear-up for Paradox Crawler, segmented snake-bite for Chronal Leech, jaw-gape for Floq.
  • ChronoDawn Custom Shields (introduced in 0.7.0) — shift-click in inventory now equips them to the off-hand on 1.21.2+ (added EQUIPPABLE component); the cooldown overlay now renders on top of the held item icon instead of behind it; blocking mixin now targets Player so the predicate fires for player characters on 1.20.1 / 1.21.1 / 1.21.2.
  • Enchantments for ChronoDawn tools, armor, and shields on 1.21.1+ — every Clockstone / Enhanced Clockstone / Entropy Crystal / Temporal Amber / Chronoblade / Time Tyrant's Mail / Echoing Time Boots piece, plus all three custom shields, can now receive enchantments at the enchanting table and via anvil + enchanted book. They were silently rejected on 1.21.1+ because Minecraft 1.21 moved enchantment eligibility to the #minecraft:enchantable/* item tags and the custom equipment had never been added to them; 1.20.1 was unaffected since its check is based on Java class inheritance.
  • ChronoDawn portal:
    • Re-entering a portal whose destination frame was previously deactivated now reuses the existing frame instead of generating a duplicate.
    • Destination generation no longer overwrites water, lava, or leaf blocks at the arrival site. The arrival Y is now corrected only when the interior would land in fluid, and the previous "forced footing block" behavior is removed (no more stray Temporal Stone block dropped at the destination).
    • Destination frame no longer floats above replaceable surface decorations (flowers, tall grass, snow layers). The bottom frame row now overwrites these the same way it already did for water and lava, matching player-built portal placement.
  • Dark Forest dense fog restored in Chrono Dawn on 1.21.2+ (regression from the post-1.21.2 fog API migration).
  • Key to Master Clock held model — first/third-person hand display transforms added so the key is held at a natural angle (previously rendered flat without display transforms).
  • Item Frames placed inside NBT-defined structures are now preserved at runtime (the block_pos / TileX-Y-Z attachment was not being rewritten, so the entities silently despawned on load).
  • TimeKeeper village template updated to use Temporal blocks consistently and adds defensive trapdoors at the perimeter.
  • Time Blossoms:
    • Harvest now drops the matching color (1.21.2+; previously could drop a different color variant).
    • No longer generate on top of sand patches in Chrono Dawn worldgen.
  • Silk Touch / Shears loot conditions now drop reliably on 1.21.1+ — the enchantment predicate format was wrong in many block loot tables, silently skipping the silk-touch / shears branch.
  • Glide Fish cooking recipes now unlock in the recipe book when the player picks up a Glide Fish.
  • Time Hourglass blueprint text is now properly localized (was hardcoded English).
  • Time Hourglass recipe now accepts both minecraft:sand and chronodawn:temporal_sand via the new #chronodawn:sand item tag, so the recipe can be crafted inside the Chrono Dawn dimension where worldgen places only temporal_sand.
  • Chronicle in-game entries refreshed to match current content — the Welcome and Biome Progression pages now list the current 11 Chrono Dawn biomes (the old wording was missing Plains and Faded Plains); the Ancient Ruins entry no longer says "plains, forests, deserts, and more" (which never matched the implementation) and instead points players at old taigas and dark forests. Both en_us and ja_jp updated.
  • Time Hourglass Chronicle entry — the "Required Materials" page now matches the actual recipe (4 Glass + 2 Clockstone + 1 Sand / Temporal Sand). The previous wording listed a Glass Bottle, 4 Clockstone, 2 Time Crystals, and 2 Redstone Dust, none of which match the shipped recipe. The "Crafting Tips" page also clarifies that Sand and Temporal Sand are interchangeable. Both en_us and ja_jp updated.
  • ore_clockstone count on 1.21.1+ corrected from 16 to 8 to match the 2026-01 frequency reduction (90413a2e) that was originally applied only to the 1.20.1 placed_feature. Brings 1.21.1+ in line with the documented design intent (clockstone density comparable to vanilla iron). Existing worlds keep their already-generated chunks; only newly-generated chunks reflect the change.
  • Chrono Dawn Prairies biome restored on 1.21.11 (was missing during the 1.21.11 port).
  • Chrono Turtle now spawns again on 1.20.1 (missing IN_WATER spawn placement registration).
  • Chronicle in-game entries reconciled with the actual implementation — corrected numerous descriptions that had drifted from the shipped content: Clockstone Ore is mined directly for 3-4 Clockstone (no furnace smelting); Clockstone / Enhanced Clockstone equipment is crafted without Time Crystals; the Enhanced Clockstone armor full set now lists its real protection stats (the previously advertised Time-Distortion / Slowness immunity never applied to players); Clockwork Colossus abilities corrected (Overcharge grants Speed II, Repair Protocol is a one-time ~40% HP heal); the unimplemented Temporal Phantom clones description removed; the Ultimate Artifacts page now lists the real items (Chronoblade, Time Tyrant's Mail, Echoing Time Boots, Unstable Pocket Watch); non-existent Ancient Ruins inscriptions / "Ancient Knowledge" removed; and Japanese item & boss names plus the English "Key to Master Clock" aligned with the actual in-game names. Both en_us and ja_jp updated.
