The February update introduces several major additions, including a comprehensive rework of the pet system, the Corrupted CPU, a new Crystal Relict, and more. The mod also parts ways with a previously required helper dependency, which is no longer needed.
Since the major Pet Update in version 2.5.0, the additional mod Geckolib has been required to render pet models and animations. This is no longer the case. With significant effort, all existing pets have now been converted to vanilla models.
Following the update to version 1.21.11, the previous animation system no longer functioned as intended and resulted in multiple visual issues. As a result, the entire system has been rebuilt using vanilla entities. All future pets will also be implemented using this approach.
Ideally, players should not notice this transition at all, as it affects only the technical foundation. A return to Geckolib is currently not planned.
A new pet featuring two unique mechanics has been introduced. In addition, all existing pets have been revisited, with several receiving updated models, textures, or animations.
Medoh is the first flying pet, allowing it to accompany the player in addition to an already active ground pet. It grants the Jump Boost effect to nearby players, significantly increasing their jump height. By default, it does not engage enemies and only attacks under specific conditions.

The Corrupted Boss is the first boss introduced in Chroma: Tools & Utilities. As the guardian of the Corrupted class, it must be defeated before the player can fully progress and craft the new tools.
It is summoned by constructing a specific pattern, similar to an Iron Golem structure. However, Obsidian is used instead of iron blocks, and a Heavy Core replaces the carved pumpkin.
The boss features four distinct phases, each differing significantly in behavior.
In Phase I, it engages in close combat and deals heavy melee damage. In Phase II, it shifts to ranged attacks and actively distances itself from the player. In Phase III, it marks three areas on the ground. The player must step into these zones to break the boss’s shield, allowing it to be damaged again. In Phase IV, it ascends into the air and unleashes a barrage of fireballs, causing widespread destruction in the surrounding area.
Upon defeat, the boss drops a Music Disc containing the soundtrack that plays during the battle, as well as the Corrupted Upgrade Template.

This update also introduces a new Crystal Relict.
The Magnet Module allows blocks to be moved freely. By holding right click, a targeted block can be repositioned using the mouse. Once released, the block falls to the ground and is placed automatically if possible. If the player sneaks while the block is still in the air, it will be placed instantly at its current position.

Several additional crafting recipes have also been added.
