Overview

Chao's Garden Mod is a Fabric 1.21.1 port of a Sonic-style Chao Garden mod (originally MCreator 1.12.2). It adds a custom dimension and Chao pets you can interact with.

Features

Custom dimension: Chao Garden Access: Sandstone-framed portal (nether-portal style) lit with fire. Same 4×5 to 23×23 layout as the nether portal. Terrain: Islands in ocean with sand beaches, grass interiors, and small oak trees. Worldgen: Islands 512 blocks apart, about 40-block radius, no caves or structures. Mobs: No hostile mob spawning; Drowned and other normal spawns are disabled.

Chao entity

Passive mob (10 HP, 0.25 speed). Behaviors: Walk, swim, wander; look at nearby players. Interaction: Right-click with empty hand to have it sit. Right-click a sitting Chao to open a menu. Menu options: Close Free Roam — Chao stops sitting and wanders again Name — Set a custom name (shown above the Chao) Chao Egg — Placeable block that hatches when a player is nearby. Chao Garden Portal — Transport between Overworld and Chao Garden dimension. Portal mechanics Overworld → Chao Garden: Build a sandstone frame, light it with fire, step into the portal. Chao Garden → Overworld: Step into the return portal; it links back to the original portal. Return portals are placed when you first arrive; their positions use a deterministic mapping from the source portal’s frame corner.
