UPDATE: 2.3.1
[NEW FEATURES]
- Added Great White Shark.
- Added Great White Shark Head Frame.
- Added the Blood Scent effect.
- Added a new gravel ore: Coralina.
- Added Throwable Blood Vials and Bloodied Arrows.
- Added a mechanic that allows Great White Sharks and Blue Sharks to select targets with a blood scent.
- Added suspended stilt houses.
- Major overhaul of the cannibal AI in general. (Practically rebuilt from scratch.)
[GREAT WHITE SHARK]
- Can be found alone in deep oceans and the Mermaid Sea, and is rarely found on beaches.
- May or may not attack the player, depending on its hunger.
- Can break boats with the player inside.
- Like the Blue Shark, it also devours prey, kills to eat, restores health, and gains 30s of satiety.
- Unlike the Blue Shark, it does not flee from larger prey.
- Throwing meat into the water can distract it.
- Kills prey to eat its drops and remains satiated for a while if it eats enough.
- Cannot be tamed or bred, unlike the Blue Shark.
- Can jump to catch food on the surface.
- Chases injured players (at least 1 heart of health missing).
- Added the Great White Shark Head Frame.
- Drops Shark Meat, Shark Tooth (30% chance), and Great White Shark Head.
- The Great White Shark can be used as a Biological Weapon: throwing a Blood Vial at an enemy will cause the shark to attack the target.
- Does not hunt Squids, Giant Squids, or Spotted Stingrays.
[BLOOD SCENT]
- You can craft a Blood Potion by combining a Blood Bucket + Awkward Potion. The Blood Bucket also works as a base for Bloodied Arrows.
- When an arrow hits a target, the shark will immediately hunt the entity hit by the arrow or throwable potion (including the player who threw it).
- The affected victim will immediately be prioritized as a hunting target.
[CORALINA]
- Can rarely be found in oceanic environments and is more commonly found in the Mermaid Sea.
- Cannot be found in rivers, only in oceans.
- Only generates when touching water.
- Requires at least a Stone Shovel to mine. (Gravel ore.)
- Has a full armor set, tools, and even horse armor.
- Has attributes similar to iron.
- Coralina equipment does not receive the underwater mining penalty.
- Coralina Armor wears out 10% more slowly underwater.
[SUSPENDED STILT HOUSES]
- As in version 1.0.0, stilt houses can now be found more commonly on beaches. These are standalone stilt houses (not villages), small houses suspended above the ground by fences on beaches. They pose much less danger than villages and contain fewer cannibals, but they spawn much more frequently.
- There are currently 3 different models, and all of them contain a loot chest.
[OTHER]
- Increased Rutia's health to 450 (previously 300).
- Rutia now applies the "Hunger" effect to nearby players. He is the embodiment of hunger itself.
- Rutia is now immune to projectiles.
- Increased the knockback of Rutia's tail attack.
- Rutia's tail attack now destroys nearby blocks.
- Increased the range of the seagull's ambient sounds.
- The Capture Net no longer stacks and now has durability based on usage.
- The Watarru ritual now depends on the sound of the drum. Without the drum sound, there is no magic.
- Cannibals now only wake up if you open doors, chests, or gates near them. Jumping or sprinting near them will no longer wake them.
- Changed the percentage of cannibals that decide to sleep each day to 40%.
- Non-cannibal players can no longer sleep in vine beds unless they have become a cannibal.
- Cannibal players can no longer sleep in regular beds.
- Shark Tooth Spear now accepts Trident enchantments.
- Changed metadata to American English.
- Cannibals now become hostile if you try to enter their village using a ladder. (It's better to build your way up with blocks.)
- Cannibals now become hostile if you step on pressure plates in their village.
- Added a new advancement: "My Monkey Friend", obtained by taming a Capuchin Monkey.
- Added a new advancement: "Tam-Tam-Tam", obtained by killing a Great White Shark.
- Reduced the spawn frequency of Giant Squids.
- Cannibals now have specific sounds for conversations instead of using generic ambient sounds.
- After fishing, cannibals can now either eat their catch or place it in a nearby chest. If there is no chest, they will place one.
- Added support for Xaero's Minimap for mobs.
[FIXES]
- Fixed the Fishing Net disappearing when only one was held.
- Increased Aquatic Peace detection to improve compatibility with mods.
- Fixed incompatibility with the Night Vision Goggles from Artifacts.
- Fixed albino Spotted Stingrays spawning in large numbers in cold biomes.
- Fixed Rutia attacking players transformed into Cannibals. (26 or more Human Meats consumed.)
- Fixed Ozgum not defending himself against mobs other than the player. (This now also allows battles between Ozgum and Rutia.)
- Fixed Darts not being fired from Dispensers and Coconut Traps.
- Fixed the Capture Net not always deploying correctly.
- If a player's companion is caught by the Capture Net, it will no longer teleport back to the player when the player moves away, as it normally would. It will remain trapped.
[NEW CANNIBAL AI]
- Up until version 2.3.0, the cannibal AI had remained mostly unchanged since version 2.0.0. As the code grew organically and new features were implemented, there were many conflicts between goals and objectives. The AI has been completely rebuilt from scratch with a cleaner structure to ensure that all features work more reliably and consistently.
