Overview
This datapack improves compatibility between Botany Pots and Farmer’s Delight by fixing Rich Soil behaviour inside Botany Pots.
What this datapack does
✅ Rich Soil compatibility
Allows all crops and trees that normally grow on dirt or farmland to also grow on Farmer’s Delight Rich Soil in Botany Pots
Fully tag-based: compatible with many other botany pot crop and tree mods automatically
🌱 Growth bonuses
Rich Soil: +12.5% growth speed (a small increase of 2.5% over Minecraft farmland and the vanilla Botany Pot value due to the work required to generate Rich Soil). Note: this means that on average, mushrooms that exclusively use rich soil will grow ~1 second faster.
Rich Soil Farmland: +15% growth speed (vanilla value determined by the Botany Pots mod)
⛏️ Hoe tilling inside Botany Pots
Right-clicking a Botany Pot containing Rich Soil with any hoe (only vanilla Minecraft hoes tested) converts it to Rich Soil Farmland
This interaction recipe was missing from newer versions of vanilla Botany Pots, and mimics the behaviour of using a hoe on a botany pot containing dirt.
🔪 Harvest crops with knives
V1.1 update - Use knives in the tool slot! This allows Sandy Shrubs, Wheat, & Grass to drop straw in a botany pot!
Use my companion datapack, Botany Pots More Crop Compatibility to enable Rice to also drop straw!
Compatibility
Requires Botany Pots - (Fabric version tested)
Requires Farmer's Delight Refabricated for Rich Soil + Knife compatibility
🧩 Compatible with:
Safe to add or remove from existing worlds
📦 Works well with my other data packs
BotanyPots More Crop Compatibility for more crops and fixes Rice harvesting)
Botany Trees x Farmer's Expanded Compatibility Pack for more Tree support, missing cutting board recipes, axes and more!

Versions
I'm sure this probably works on more versions than just 1.21.1, but that's all I tested it for at the moment! Feel free to test it if you wish.
