Biomes of the ancients (BOTA for short) is a minecraft mod aiming to add a large amount of new content, making your minecraft experience fresh and new. From items to weapons, biomes to dimensions, mobs to bosses, it adds a little bit of everything. a lot of biomes in this mod are heavily inspired by biomes that have been removed from older versions of Biomes O' Plenty.

Listing every single thing this mod adds (and what is planned) is difficult, so i'll just list the most important things instead.

Biomes: Biomes of the ancients adds many biomes, including the Brilliant and bright Elder forest, to the soothing and whimsical dreamscapes, the festering fields of rotland, the simple and subtle dunes of black beaches, the clouded beauty that is the Mistral spinney, and so many more. Only a handful of these biomes are truly important for progression. This mod has around 130 biomes in the overworld, and roughly 40-50 extradimensional biomes as of writing this.

Future plans: we plan to give a lot of biomes and other content the spotlight they deserve. all biomes will eventually have something that makes them stand out (that being either a mob or a resource) and we also plan to add a lot more progression that will take place post-end as we have pretty much completed our ore progression for the overworld. there are currently 132 overworld biomes and we think that we will be finished with adding them at around 145-160 biomes. there will also be more extradimensional biomes and more dimensions in the future. ONCE WE FINISH OUR PLANS FOR 1.16.5 WILL WE START MORE SERIOUS DEVELOPMENT ON BOTA: GENESIS

Bosses: At the moment bosses are a very WIP feature, but in the future we plan on adding many bosses that have different difficulties, drops, and attacks. After defeating a handful of bosses in the overworld, you can travel to unique and mysterious dimensions.

Known Issues: there are a few known bugs and issues that are known in the mod and we are in the process of fixing them, here's just a rundown.

1. most biomes have trees that seemingly float. we are also in the process of making a procedure that will make this issue no longer happen.
2. mod incompatabilites. as far as we know, only one mod has issues with biomes of the ancients. the Overworld Mirror mod will not generate BOTA's structures in the mirror dimension.

Rift Of Skyra Dimension

!the indigo lumens biome The rift of skyra is the domain for higher deities. it is the first dimension you will typically venture to after defeating the ender dragon and killing Prototype-A. it contains many unique and dangerous biomes and mobs and will be crucial to progressing in BOTA's Postgame.

Llakeo Dimension

!the willow muskeg The Llakeo dimension is a mysterious fractal based extrasolar planet habited by the last citizens, a Clandestine population of denizens that suffered poor karma during the caricolean war, in the dimension you can unravel the rich history they have stored for milennia.

The Medley Dimension

!the grapevine arboretum The Medley is the fruit dimension, take an adventure through this vivid but dangerous landscape and observe some of the most bizarre fruits you could even fathom!
