v0.1.8: Larger Operations and New Creative Capabilities
Axion v0.1.8 adds support for much larger placement operations and introduces two new creative mode capabilities for faster block manipulation.
Highlights
- increased maximum serialized message size from 64MB to 128MB for larger operations
- added Bulldozer mode: hold left click to break blocks fast
- added Fast Place mode: hold right click to place blocks fast in a controlled manner
- replace mode now uses fast place by default for rapid block replacement
- fixed keybinds menu showing duplicate "Axion" categories for players with incomplete translations
Larger Operations
The maximum serialized message size has been increased from 64MB to 128MB, allowing for significantly larger placement operations without hitting the size limit. This change addresses crashes that occurred when confirming very large clone or move operations.
Additionally, client-side validation has been added to prevent operations that would exceed the limit, showing a user-friendly error message instead of crashing.
New Creative Capabilities
Two new toggle-able capabilities have been added for creative mode:
Bulldozer Mode
When enabled, holding left click will continuously break blocks at a controlled rate. This is useful for clearing large areas quickly without spamming clicks.
- Keybind:
Toggle Axion Bulldozer(unbound by default, must be bound in controls) - Uses the same toast notification pattern as other capabilities
- Works with existing infinite reach and symmetry features
Fast Place Mode
When enabled, holding right click will continuously place blocks at a controlled rate. This is useful for building structures or filling areas quickly.
- Keybind:
Toggle Axion Fast Place(unbound by default, must be bound in controls) - Uses the same toast notification pattern as other capabilities
- Replace mode now automatically uses fast place behavior for rapid block replacement
- Works with existing infinite reach and symmetry features
Both capabilities use a 4-tick repeat interval for controlled, predictable placement/breaking speed.
Keybinds Menu Fix
Fixed an issue where players with incomplete language translations (particularly Chinese players) would see multiple "Axion" categories in the keybinds menu instead of a single category. This was caused by using a non-standard category key format that didn't fall back gracefully when translations were missing.
The fix uses the standard Minecraft key.categories.axion.general format, ensuring consistent behavior across all locales.
Notes
- Both bulldozer and fast place modes are only available in creative mode
- Keybindings are unbound by default and must be configured by the user in the controls menu
- Fast place is automatically active when replace mode is enabled
- The larger operation limit applies to both Fabric and Paper backends
